DAY 1:
Leaving the concrete jungle on route through the Highveld with lots of mining activities, Gold mines and Coal mines. Pass large power stations which supply power to Gauteng, Free State, North West, Mpumalanga. We go along the Long Tom Pass where we stop at a replica of the Creusot cannon (called the Long tom cannon by the Boer Soldiers). The last planned boer war was in the Long Tom Pass. The Lodge where we stay offers walking trails, trout fishing, clay Pigeon shooting.
 

DEPART: Johannesburg to Trout Farm & Lodge
ACTIVITIES: Do walks on farm trails, trout fishing
GUEST LODGE: 1 X NIGHT (B, L, D) – 370KM / 5HRS

 
DAY 2:
Driving from the Lodge to the Panorama route for a wonderful break away where you can stop, admire the spectacular nature scenery, some of them at an altitude 1260m above sea level and view the world’s largest canyon, the Blyde River in total 27,000 hectares from here you can see the Three Rondavels and Gods’s Window. We stop at Bourke’s Luck where potholes formed in a remarkable process of erosion that started thousands of years ago caused by the confluence of the Blyde and Treur Rivers. We will also view the Berlin Water Fall, on our way to Kruger National Park. We enter at Orpen Gate to booking in at the Rest Camp.
 

DEPART: To do the Panorama Route enroute to Kruger National Park
ACTIVITIES: Do Panorama Route
REST CAMP: 1 X NIGHT (B, L, D) – 300 / 4˝ HRS.


DAY 3:

After an early coffee, we leave for our next Rest Camp in the Kruger National Park in the Southern part of the park. We will stop for breakfast and lunch on the route to the rest camp. We book in to the rest camp and do game drives for the rest of the day.
 

DEPART: After an early coffee to our next rest camp.
ACTIVITIES: Drive to our next rest camp, do game drives on route.
REST CAMP: 2 X NIGHTS ( B, L, D ) 250KM / 7 HRS.


DAY 4 :
After an early coffee, we are on an open game drive vehicle with myself and the guide of the game drive vehicle, we do a full day of game drives in the open vehicle, will stop for breakfast and lunch whilst doing game drives.
 

DEPART: After early coffee, we leave on a open game drive vehicle for a full day of game drives.
ACTIVITIES: A full day of game drives in a open game drive vehicle with 2 x guides.
REST CAMP: 2 X NIGHTS ( B, L ,D ) 250KM / 7 HRS.


DAY 5:
After breakfast we leave the Kruger National Park to go to Johannesburg, we will stop for lunch as we travel back.
DEPART: After breakfast heading back to Johannesburg.

ACTIVITIES: Drive back to Johannesburg.
TOUR ENDS: ( B, L ) 480 KM / 5.5HRS.

TOUR VEHICLE:
We use 4 x 4 minibuses with fully equipped trailers for luggage, food and camping equipment.

PARTICIPATION TOURS:
Limited Participation, a comfortable camping safari style. No difficult physical activity.
The camp sites vary from place to place, please be prepared for everything from basic facilities to excellent
campsites.

CLIMATE:
The rainy season is from September to April, but mainly starting in November to end of February. Temperatures can be as high as 44° C in summer months, the average ± 35° C, Night temperatures is seldom below 26° C. During winter months (June, July, August) day time temperatures are ± 27° C, Night temperatures ± 5° C.

BAGGAGE:
Due to packing space we limit baggage to 16 KGs, preferably a soft bag rather than a hard suitcase and not taking up to much space in a tent or the trailer.

CLOTHING:
It is illegal to wear any kind of army camouflage clothing. Neutral or dull clothing is recommended. During summer months one should combine light cotton clothes during day time and a sweater or light bush jacket during evenings as it can be cool. During winter times wear clothes in layers that can be removed as temperatures rise and replaced as temperatures drop in the evenings. Shoes must be stout and provide protection against thorns and other hazard. At camp sites light shoes, sandals will give a relief after a day in the bush, do not walk barefoot in the camp site especially at night.

PERSONAL EQUIPMENT:
With your camera equipment, take everything you need (spare batteries, extra films, spares, chargers, etc.) Develop films at home as it will be cheaper. A cigarette lighter connection is available in the vehicle for any recharging of batteries.
Items not to be forgotten include: personal medication, hats, sunscreen cream, lip protection cream, insect repellant, malaria precaution medication (consult your physician before departure), sunglasses, binoculars, torches, guiding books.

TRAVEL INSURANCE:
We recommend comprehensive insurance covering cancellation, curtailment, medical, emergency travel and personal accident insurance as compulsory on all tours. Insurance for loss of baggage, money and personal items is recommended.

PASSPORTS & VISAS:
Citizens of the following countries do not require visas: all Commonwealth and European countries, Scandinavia, USA and South Africa. In Zimbabwe, Zambia visas are required that can be bought at the border crossings. Any advice by the company and guides are given in good faith but without the responsibility of the company.

ALL VISA COST’S AND RESPONSIBILITIES ARE THE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE CLIENTS.

Clients can exchange PULA at the border crossing, an amount of ZAR1,000 per client will be enough to cover necessities such as drinking water, soft drinks, alcoholic beverages, activities payable by the clients.

ONWARD TRAVEL ARRANGEMENTS:
We recommend onward travel arrangements to be made after the day the tour ends. If arrangements are made for the same day the tour ends, we can not be responsible for any delays resulting in failure to meet those arrangements.

FULL PAYMENT OF TOUR COST:
A deposit of 40 % is payable upon booking to secure your tour. Full payment is due 4 weeks prior to departure. Full payment not received within this period the tour may be treated as cancelled .Any bookings made within the 4 week period must be accompanied by the full payment of the tour cost.

CANCELLATION OR CHANGES TO BOOKINGS:
Cancellation of any bookings must be received in writing and acknowledged by AFRICA DESTINATIONS TOURS & SAFARIS. The following fees shall apply:

1. Notification is received 28 days or more before departure, loss of 20 % of deposit.
2. 28 – 21 days, loss of 50 % of deposit.
3. 20 – 14 days, loss of 80 % of deposit.
4. 13 – 0 days, loss of 100 % of deposit.

If you fail to join a tour, join after departure, leave prior to the tour completion for any reason, no reimbursement whatsoever will be made.

CHANGES MADE BY YOU:
If you need to change your reservation for whatever reason, we will make every effort to assist you. You may move your reservation to another date, subject to availability, should we not be able to assist you with alternative dates the normal cancellation fees will apply.

CHANGES OR CANCELLATIONS MADE BY AFRICA DESTINATIONS TOURS & SAFARIS:
All efforts will be made to operate itineraries as advertised, however due to local conditions and unforeseen circumstances, weather conditions the Company or employees may alter the itinerary of the tour in any way with no refund to the client. In the event of major disruptions, including weather conditions, mechanical breakdown, sickness, political instability, act of terrorism or factors after the time of departure, every effort will be made to utilize alternative arrangements.
The Company reserves the right to cancel any tour and either offer an alternative tour or refund the money’s paid in full.

PRICE GUARANTEE:
Before accepting a booking we reserve the right to adjust the price, although it would be exceptional to do so, this may be deemed necessary in cases of drastically increased transportation cost’s, local taxes or the current exchange rate.
When a booking is made and paid in full we will not increase the price. No worry of additional cost’s being added at the end the tour.

CLIENT RESPONSIBILITIES:
The client agrees to abide to all the laws and regulations of each country and abide to the instructions of the guide to safe guard the safety of the clients and the running of the tour.

Clients are responsible for the safe keeping of their personal belongings.

The client agrees to indemnify AFRICA DESTINATIONS TOURS & SAFARIS for any accident, damage to property or personal injury caused by the client during the tour.

If any rescue or medical assistance is required for any reason, the client shall be liable for the entire cost.

The tour is adventurous and may involve an element of personal risk, AFRICA DESTINATIONS TOURS & SAFARIS cannot be held responsible for injury, accident, damage to property, loss of life, delay or inconvenience caused. The client accepts the responsibility for the risks involved.

If we consider a client to be unsuitable for a tour or causes inconvenience, annoyance or danger to other clients on the tour, it may in its absolute discretion to cancel the clients booking or decline to carry the client any further on the tour.

If the client has a complaint whilst on tour, it must be brought to the attention of the guide, so it can be dealt with, if not resolved the client must write to AFRICA DESTINATIONS TOURS & SAFARIS within 30 days after the tour ended. We will not entertain complaints of loss of enjoyment where full land arrangements have been provided.
